An Unexpected Encounter
Living in the country means there’s always something unexpected waiting outside. Most days it’s peaceful, but every now and then nature has a way of reminding you who’s really in charge.
The other day I was doing some yard work and had to reach behind a bush. At first, I thought a branch had brushed against my arm. Then I looked down and it wasn’t a branch.
My hand was covered in wasps.
Apparently, I had reached right into their nest without realizing it. I pulled my arm back as fast as I could, but not before getting stung four or five times. Let me tell you, that definitely got my attention! My hand hurt for quite a while, and it wasn’t exactly how I planned to spend the afternoon.
Thankfully, I was okay, and now it’s just one more story on top of many others. It’s also a good reminder that even ordinary days can turn into memorable adventures when you least expect them.
The next time I’m working around bushes, I’ll definitely be taking a closer look before reaching in!
