I don’t know about you but sometimes I will see something and just feel inspired. It could be something I saw online or on TV or it could be something in nature or even at work. You never know when inspiration will strike. It could even be a dream or just a random thought. But that is where every form of art known to man has started, as an idea in someone’s mind.
Star Wars started as an idea in George Lucas’s head. The Statue of Liberty is standing New York Harbor because someone in 19th century France had an idea, then shared it with others who expanded on that idea. The point is that is how it starts.
I like to make sketches before starting a final piece. That helps me experiment with different shapes and colors as I work out what I want to do. Sometimes the finished piece looks very different from the original idea.
Why I Enjoy Digital Art
When I was younger I liked to occasionally pause shows I was watching on TV and draw what I saw. Sometimes it would be Spongebob or something else. My mom would put these on the refrigerator like they were priceless works of art. I guess to her they were.
Now that I’m older and have become familiar with programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator I find digital art to be my favorite way of being creative. There are just so many things you can do with these programs, things that are more difficult to do with traditional materials. Plus, it’s easy to experiment and make changes without losing the original work. That’s a huge bonus to me.
As I continue learning, I want to improve my skills and learn how to branch out more with my creativity. I look forward to seeing where this takes me.
